About the Role
Indoor Elements Mechanical is seeking dedicated and skilled Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team in Grande Prairie. We are looking for both seasoned Journeymen and motivated Apprentices who take pride in their craftsmanship and are committed to delivering high-quality HVAC and ventilation solutions.
As a member of our field team, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of various sheet metal products and systems. Whether you are leading a project or learning the ropes, you will play a critical role in ensuring our residential and commercial clients receive efficient, reliable service.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Install HVAC ductwork, air handling systems, and related sheet metal components according to blueprints and specifications.
- Fabrication: Measure, cut, bend, and form sheet metal parts using hand tools and shop machinery.
- Collaboration: Work alongside other trades and team members to ensure projects are completed safely and to code.
- Quality Control: Inspect all work for accuracy and compliance with provincial building codes and company standards.
- Maintenance: Assist in the repair and alteration of existing ductwork and ventilation systems.
- Safety: Maintain a clean and organized job site while strictly adhering to all OH&S regulations and company safety policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification: Valid Alberta Journeyman Sheet Metal Certificate or current registration as a Sheet Metal Apprentice.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical manuals.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of working in various environments (indoor/outdoor), climbing ladders, and lifting heavy materials.
- Tools: Proficient in the use of specialized sheet metal tools and equipment.
- Professionalism: Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
- Requirements: A valid driver’s license and a clean abstract are generally required for site travel.
