About the Role
Indoor Elements Mechanical is seeking detail-oriented Service/Maintenance HVAC Technicians to join our team in Grande Prairie. We are looking for both Journeypersons and Apprentices who specialize in the longevity and efficiency of heating and cooling systems.
In this role, you are the frontline of equipment reliability. Your focus will be on performing comprehensive preventative maintenance and diagnostic service for residential and commercial HVAC systems. We value technicians who are thorough, proactive, and dedicated to helping our customers avoid costly breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on furnaces, air conditioners, RTUs, and boilers to ensure peak performance and safety.
- System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues to identify failing components before they cause a system outage.
- Customer Education: Clearly explain system health to clients and provide recommendations for upgrades or necessary repairs.
- Combustion Analysis: Conduct safety checks, including carbon monoxide testing and heat exchanger inspections.
- Filter & Belt Management: Manage routine hardware replacements and system cleaning for large-scale commercial maintenance contracts.
- Digital Reporting: Complete detailed service reports and maintenance checklists via mobile dispatching software.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification: Registered Apprentice or Journeyman in a relevant trade (HVAC, Refrigeration, or Gasfitting).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC control sequences, airflow dynamics, and thermostat configurations.
- Detail-Oriented: A “keen eye” for identifying wear and tear that others might miss.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport with homeowners and facility managers through professional communication.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working on a wide variety of brands and equipment types, from legacy units to modern high-efficiency systems.
- Requirements: A valid driver’s license and a clean abstract for travel to various client sites.
