Our Story...

Indoor Elements Mechanical began in 1991 when Gord and Lena Buechner, both born and raised in the Grande Prairie area, launched their own venture as G&L Heating and Cooling.

As the business evolved, we officially incorporated in 1996, marking a significant milestone in our journey. In the years that followed, we rebranded to Indoor Elements Mechanical to better reflect our growing capabilities; it was during this transition that we expanded our expertise beyond HVAC to include full plumbing and electrical services.

In the spring of 2025, Gord and Lena Buechner decided it was time to begin working towards their well-earned retirement. The decision became much easier when their son Cory Buechner, with the support of his wife Jessie and their two sons decided to purchase Indoor Elements Mechanical! Cory is a familiar face to many of our customers as he has been a fixture at Indoor Elements for the last 20 years.

Cory is a Journeyman Class A Gasfitter who for many years worked on the tools, but most recently has been in Management. Cory along with the rest of the Indoor Elements crew, is committed to honoring the long-standing family run business values in place and upholding the same level of service we have always provided.

Let's Make it official

1996 - Company Is Officially Incorporated

G&L Heating officially is incorporated providing a significant milestone for our business. Ultimately this leads to expansion of services and a rebrand to the name you see today.

Reconigition

2010 - Grande Prairie's Small Business Of The Year

With our commitment to maintaining a positive working environment we were awarded Small Business of the Year (Under 10 Employees) by the Grande Prairie Chamber of Commerce in 2010.

The Future

2025 - Retirement and A Look To The Future

Our original founders, Gord and Lena begin retirement but not without choosing their son Cory as the heir apparent to Indoor Elements. Today we now offer HVAC, Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Electrical as our wide range of services continues to grow.
